Yesterday I took all 4 kids for immunizations. What an adventure! It wasn't as exciting as anything my mom went through (no one passed out or threw up), but still. Shaylee was our worst patient--she paced like a caged lion in the exam room until it was her turn (she was 3rd).
Aspen went first, and she was fine until the nurse stuck her when she made a face and proclaimed, "You are a mean lady!" She kept repeating that to me the whole time we were there (and has said it several times today). "That lady was mean to me; she gave me an ouchy shot." We've tried to convince her that the shot was to help her stay healthy and it wasn't the nurse's fault, but to no avail.
Devin was next. He asked for more shots until he realized that the tetanus shots gives him a dead arm for a couple of days. Now he's not so keen on the whole idea.
Shaylee has been whining since she got her shot. Unfortunately, she has to go back for another in 2 months and again in 4 months. Ugh!
Connor was our best patient. He didn't flinch, didn't make a face, didn't cry. He hasn't even run a fever. Talk about easy!!!
