Happy Birthday Aspen!

So I'm a lousy blogger, I know. The last two months have been absolutely insane, but I did want to celebrate Aspen's 4th birthday--I can't believe my baby is 4!!! Doesn't she look so grown up? This is Aspen modeling her new dress from Grandma Brown:

Connor can never be left out of the action:

I was lazy this year and bought her cake, and it looked great, but it tasted terrible, so I guess I'll go back to decorating my own cakes in the future (although Aspen did love the Little Mermaid, and she got a bracelet and some rings out of the deal):

Aspen got a recorder from Grandma and a music book, plus Sequence for Kids--she loves it.

Modeling her new swim suit and coverup:

A swim party at Grandma's is the only way to go for summer birthdays.

Dennis got me a new underwater camera, so we had to try it out:

On Aspen's birthday, we went to Elia's funeral in the morning, but then we had free tickets to Raging Waters, wahoo!

Happy Birthday Aspen!

Happy Birthday Aspen! We celebrated Aspen's 3rd birthday today--it is crazy to think that she's 3 already (well, almost). Anyway, what's a summer birthday without a swim party at grandma's house? It was all Aspen wanted . . .

Aspen decided to "do" grandma's hair with a squirt gun (and her fingers--luckily there was not a comb available):

Shaylee enjoyed herself:

Devin and his trusty squirt gun (luckily, Dad forgot his swimsuit and the hose at grandpa's was unavailable):

Check out those goggles!

Aspen and Aunt Summer (who flew home from Hawaii this morning and is back to Phoenix tomorrow):

Grandma and Connor (aren't they sweet?):

My mom surprised us by having my Uncle Rex build a doll house for Aspen. It is amazing and she loves it. Thanks you guys--you're the best!!!

Not only did they build the doll house, but supplied it with lots of furniture and dolls:

Aspen (of course) loved opening her presents:

The dress from mom wasn't nearly as exciting, but she needed it and will look darling for church tomorrow (she's really shot up recently and all her dresses are getting much too short):

What's a birthday party without an Elmo cake? I really tried to convince her to let me make her a mermaid cake, since I made her an Elmo cake last year, but that's what she wanted (I think it turned out well):

Blow Aspen Blow!

Aspen also enjoyed Superman ice cream with her Elmo cake (while I was decorating the cake this morning, Dennis was trying to get her to eat her oatmeal for breakfast--"No, Dad, I'm having Elmo cake with white frosting for breakfast."). It took some serious convincing, but she did eat the oatmeal (with a few licks of frosting).

I LOVE CAKE!
